Rock Talk:
Rock Talk 2012 will be held February 22 to 24 in Smithers.
- Education day will be Wednesday February 22 – “Update on Government Processes for Mineral Exploration Activities” at Northwest Community College – no charge;
- Technical presentations will be Thursday February 23 at the Smithers Curling Club, followed by the Rescan reception;
- Ski day and Acme Core Shack at Hudson Bay Mountain will be Friday February 24.

Update on Government Processes for Mineral Exploration Activities
Purpose: To provide clarification on recent changes including:
• Role of MEM and FLNRO in permitting process
• New tools available from FCBC for assessment of potential land use conflicts
• Use of FCBC geomark tool for creation of Shapefiles for NOW applications
• How to complete the digital NOW
• Update on multi-year area based permitting
• Timelines for reaching a decision on permitting
• How to speed up permitting
• Mineral titles update

Join us for breakfast at 9:00 am in Whiskey Jack’s Lounge on Hudson Bay Mountain, sponsored by Acme Labs. Stay to enjoy drill core exhibits from regional projects and the amazing experience of skiing at Hudson Bay Mountain. Rentals are available on the mountain. Car pooling and rides are available. (To be organized during coffee break of presentations.)
There is no charge for the breakfast or coreshack, and discounted rates are available for ski passes and rentals.
